January 15th, 2021 - During this past holiday season, many advisors in our office decided to make donations and volunteer their time to important causes in lieu of client gifts. Here are some of the important causes that we decided to contribute to during the holiday season:

Nourish NJ

As previously mentioned, last month Bleakley made a donation to Nourish NJ in Morristown and the advisors and staff donated meal kits to the organization that provided dinner for over 300 people in need.

Fulfill - Foodbank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties 

Fulfill is a charitable organization focused on food distribution, as well as a number of other programs to help those in need get back on their feet for good. Their mission is to alleviate hunger and build food security in Monmouth & Ocean counties and to make sure that all people at all times have access to enough nutritious food to maintain an active and healthy life. 

In late December, Mark Feldman, Michael Klein, Andy Schwartz, and Kim Parrillo attended one of their events in Neptune, NJ and handed out food to those who attended. They also made a donation to the organization as well.

Interfaith Food Pantry, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and Wreaths across America

Partner of Bleakley Financial Group, Jack Cooney, contributed to a number of organizations over this past holiday season.

First, the Interfaith Food Pantry, which is a community of “neighbors helping neighbors” committed to ending hunger. With the stress placed upon food pantries during COVID-19, Jack and his team wanted to support and honor their incredible efforts as they press forward in their mission to provide nutritious food, education, and resources to Morris County families in need.

In 2020, they distributed over 1.5 million pounds of food, provided over 1.4 million meals, distributed 500,000 pounds of produce, and visited over 26,000 households.

The Stephen Siller – Tunnels to Towers Foundation, builds mortgage-free smart homes for the most catastrophically injured service members who dedicated their lives to our country on September 11^th, 2021. They have since raised over $250 million in support of those heroes and their families, delivered or in progress of providing 450 mortgage-free homes, and have educated over 500,000 through their 9/11 Never Forget mobile exhibit.

Lastly, Jack Cooney attended an event at the Old St. Patrick’s Basilica in NYC for Wreaths Across America. Their mission is to remember and honor veterans by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,500 locations across the United States. Jack has been a proud to support this organization for many years.

Restore NYC & City Relief

This year, Wealth management Advisor, John Voigt contributed to RestoreNYC. They are a non-profit organization making freedom real for survivors of trafficking in the United States. Since 2009, they have pioneered innovative housing and economic-empowerment solutions that give survivors access to a safe home and a safe job. They have trained over 600 organizations across the nation, including law enforcement agencies, other service providers, and hospitals.

John also contributed to City Relief, an organization founded in 1989, which has mobilized thousands of volunteers to compassionately serve those struggling with homelessness by providing hope and resources that lead towards life transformations.

Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN)

Client Service Associate, Ashley Tanchak, has made donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and has also donated her time, including being in charge of an upcoming 5K walk that will take place on April 30^th at the Mack-Cali Business Campus in Parsippany, NJ. PanCAN’s mission is to take bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge, and advocating for patients. Since 2003, they have generated a total research investment of more than $149 million, with additional $28 million investment this past year.

Furry Feet Rescue

Amara Hittinger, another Client Service Associate at Bleakley has been volunteering her time at Furry Feet Recuse which is a small non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue based our of Walnutport, PA. The shelters mission is to educate the public on animal care such as dietary needs, shots, and emotional care. Amara donates her time to help with basic care needs, including cleaning cages and providing them with food and water, along with many other essential needs.

Amara’s goal for 2022 is to raise enough donations to fund an additional dog run to help place more dogs in their fur-ever homes.
